The Double Bass Mystery

The story of The Double Bass Mystery was written by Jeremy Harmer . He is a ESL teacher, well known as writer of books in field of English language teaching. He has written plenty of books about how to learn English and The Double Bass was one of his novel.

If you are the book reader, you may not pick this book due to the no interest of this cover. No readers like the books with bad cover. But if you take a good look at this book carefully , then you may fall in love with it. Judging by the title and the cover of the book, you may know it is about the musical instrument , obviously double bass.

The two main plots of this book is one the loss of double bass instrument and famous painting , two the death of an orchestra manager . This story happened in one classical band which was called Barston Symphony Orchestra in England. They had the concert in Barcelona . One of the girl , Penny Wade lost her double bass . Then the problem started to occur . The question was how can the big double bass was lost in the truck which took it from England to Spain . To the answer the question , the Orchestra manager , Frank called the police to investigate. After one of the concert , Frank suddenly died from the hotel room down to the ground. Things turned out to be complicated . The relationship between the group got to be sophisticated . There were leader of Double bass instrument and the harp player secretly fell in loved with Frank . Penny got the boyfriend who played the same double bass , he was not always nice to her ,yet that day Penny noticed Simon ,her boyfriend seemed to have secret with her friend , Andriana . After the long investigation , the inspector found out that Frank was killed , not suicidal case. The question was who killed Frank and why ? Simon was not in the hotel with Penny when the accident happened.In  Andriana's room , there was a man in it during accident . The leader of double bass fought with Frank before he died and two leader of double bass and harp player fought about the Frank's death. Right after that day , the inspector found the answer , the one who pushed Frank from the hotel window was Simon because Simon stole the famous painting and hided it in Penny's double bass case. After they arrived Spain , Simon went to take painting in bar while Frank was drinking there because he was so sick of two women which fell in love with him. After knowing everything , Frank went to hotel to report to the police and ran into Simon's room to ask why he did it ,but Simon was so frustrated that he pushed Frank from his hotel window. Right then , the paint and Penny's double bass were found. Simon was arrested , but who was in Andriana's room? Was it Simon or someone else ? Then Penny decided to ask when the answer was it was Martin , the trumpet player. Finally , everything went up to normal except two men missing one died , Frank and one was in jail , Simon .

I like the story even if it was a bit complicated to catch up . I especially like investigator who was smart enough to find out all the answer in just a short time. If I can recommend this book to my friend, I would give it the one who likes music and is interested in mystery story . After all , the story was mysterious , enticing , and fun to read.

Happy Prince Story By Oscar Wilde Review

Blowing to the fact that almost all the book-readers have known about the Happy Prince . As one , I got to get a review about it . Like everyone saying  , Happy Prince is one of the touching heart story. Not only heart warming , but also knowledgeable . Oscar Wilde completely changed the way we look at thing . Maybe It was what we all should read. Let's start telling a brief story about it.

Living in one beautiful city , One prince was named as Happy Prince . He stayed in the palace all days without leaving. In everyday life, he played , laughed and joked all around with no worrying . By the time , he passed away , all the villagers made a statue of him standing with sword which all made of gold . His eyes were placed with sapphires , and his sword was put with the ruby.

After the ruby , he asked the bird to take off sapphire as his eyes to give to the younger play writer . He finally ended up giving away his last eyes to a poor little girl who sold the match . Due to bird's kind heart, he decided to be prince's eyes telling the prince everything . He reported each day and pulled out the leaf of Happy prince helping the villagers.

The Happy Prince was no long handsome, but old ugly grey statue. The winter arrived and the bird said goodbye to the prince before he died. Suddenly the prince's heart cracked. All the villagers buried his statue leaving his cracking heart away with the bird's corpse on the rubbish .

The God sent one of his fellow to find the two most important things in the city , so he took the prince's cracking heart , and bird to the heaven. Finally , both of prince and swallow stayed in the heaven happily ever after.

How was the story ,huh ? It may blow up your mind or not. In the his tragedy story , I have noticed something strange and awkward . It was the statue itself. Most of the people only build the statue with out look. However, strangely this town dwellers only built the heart for the prince . It is odd to me to know if it is the culture alone or the story .

On the other hand, I found the author pointed out of thing that every society always does. People do not like ugly thing , so most of all they tend to ignore or  cruelly destroy for beauty sake. Honestly , I have no idea why the human's brain works like this. In contrast , those who are smart more likely using both brain and heart . I like the perspective that the author did actually hide the concept of life in the story . That's why the old classic books died hard.

All right , this is just the recommendation . I suggest every reader should at least know the Happy Prince story by Oscar Wilde. More and least it truly depends on you . Somehow the old books your grandma or grandpa left for you worth million time more than you expected. So treasure every book you have read, as a book nerd, I would say " Every Book has different ending , and every story has different meaning . What it takes is only your time to explore. "

1. After Dobby; House –Elf caused enough trouble for Harry, Harry was starved in the bedroom for days. He was only allowed to be out for morning or evening to bathroom.  One bolt of soup and little food were served the full day.



2.  At Ron’s house, Ron showed Harry how to get rid of gnomes, a tiny man who lived in garden ground. They were put up high and bewildered, so they could not find the way back home. Having put a few of them to 50 feet height, Ron and Harry went back inside. After a while, they looked at the ground and saw the gnomes ran back to the yards. 

3. Floo power took Harry to KnockTurn Alley accidentally in the reason that Harry coughed while saying the words. In the shop where Harry had no idea where it was. He saw Malfoys, Lucius Malfoy with his stupid son, Draco Malfoy. They were in the shop to sell something which seemed illegal to ministry of magic. 



4. Harry and the weasley went to Gringotts together. Harry at the time realized how less the Weasley had. They only had a little silvers, Knuts and 1 gold Galleon .Reaching his own lock , Harry tried to block all the view. It seemed totally bad to let them know he had a lot that he was afraid they felt embarrassed. How kind!!  

5. Arriving at school safe and sound through the flying car , Ron and Harry hurried in the castle. They stood at the great hall looking for Ginny( she loved cats and I never knew that .) who was the first year at Hogwarts . When they noticed Snape was not there, they spoke ill of him. But they ended up knowing he was behind them ,looking for them who were not on the school train.

6. Colin Creevey , a new first year boy in Gryffindor house kept annoying Harry. He even asked Harry to take a photo and signed on the picture. He said his family was the muggle born. His father was the milkman ,they could not believe that his son was selected to Hogwart Witchcraft and Wizardary school. He was so proud to have one wizard in the family. 

7. You would never know how stupid Gilderoy Lockhart was. He taught everyone about his own-self , not the magic against dark art .His quiz was more ridiculous than an ever.

8. The Deathday Party , Nearly Headless Nick celebrated his 500^th deathday in the castle inviting all his ghostly friends included Harry , Hermione ,and Ron. On the Halloween day while everyone was enjoying the feast , three of them popped up in the ghost party listening to dead song with the most disgusting food ( well, I guess they starved ) .



9. In History of Magical lesson with Professor Binn who was the only ghost teacher. Hermione was the only one who raised her hand to distract him . She asked him for the legend of Chamber of Secret . Then he was the one who told them about the chamber of secret ,not Professor McGonagall ( her lesson was transfiguration ).



10. Mr Filch was a squib . Harry stumbled upon it when he was in Filch’s office( punishment of walking around the castle with a little mud on the body due to Quidditch practice ) . A Squib was someone who was born in wizard world ,but had no magic. There was a short course to learn magic like Kwikspell ,so Filch took the course because he could not do magic, and that’s why he hated the students so much . 



11. Glideroy Lockhart had opened the Dueling Club himself teaching everyone how to defend themselves against dark art. The rest were paired.

“ Yeah , he’s off to the Chamber of Secrets for cup of tea with his fanged servant ,”said George .
Well, to his surprise , Harry did not mind ,because at least to Fred and George being heir of Slytherin was quite fun.



13. Lucius Malfoy who was the noble pure blood family did the stealing stuff after all. They got their own secret chamber to keep stuffs which was forbidden in Ministry of Magic. Unfortunately , Ron and Harry caught what Malfoy said in Common room of Slytherin when they pretended to be Crabbe and Goyle . Ron sent the owl to his father telling him to check under the Malfoy’s drawing room. 



14. On Valentine day , Professor Lockhart sent the dwarfs everywhere in the castle. Harry got one from Ginny Weasley . The dwarf sang Harry the song “ His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad , His hair is as dark as a blackboard , I wish he was mine , He’s really divine , The hero who conquered the Dark Lord.” Of course , as what Harry expected Fred and George sang that song all days . ( What the annoying nuisances ) 



15. Even though the attacks were happened in row ,and Headmaster was suspended , the school still proceeded the exam as usual. According to Professor McGonagall , Professor Dumbledore wanted to keep the school as normal as possible. Well, I guess by possible meant normal class , not normal exam . 



16. If you know the bitter story of Tom Riddle , you probably don’t hate him this much . He was rested in the Muggle orphan . After his Muggle-born father realized his mother was the witch , he abandoned him before he was born. That’s why he was unable to love .



17. Harry and Tom somehow shared the same likeness. Harry was an orphans who raised by Muggles like Tom. They both were Half- Blood. Either Harry or Tom could speak Parselmouth. If it is not because he asked not to , he would be in Slytherin.



18. Waiting in Professor McGonagall Office , Mr and Mrs Weasley hugged their children so tight with great relieve they were okay. There in Professor McGonagall’s office were Professor Dumbledore, Harry , Ron , Ginny ,Mr and Mrs Weasley , Professor McGonagall herself ,and Professor Lockhart waiting to know what happened in Chamber of Secret. After sending Ginny to hospital wing , Ron was asked to enjoy the feast leaving Harry and Dumbledore alone.



19. If you read Harry Potter book, you might know how Percy cared about his position so much . Well, despite position as School Prefect he got to care about his girlfriend as well. Ginny caught him and Ravenclaw prefect ,Penelope Clearwater kissing . After the attack of Hermione and Clearwater , he was so worried about her. ( SO SWEET !! )



20. There was the night feast that was suddenly brought up by the school .The students spent all night enjoying their feast with their pajama on after the calling. The great hall was never so loud to celebrate the coming back of people who were petrified , solving Chamber of Secret , having gamekeeper back , getting rid of Defense Against the Dark Art teacher , and having no exam . HORRAY !!!!

1.  In the Quidditch game of Gryffindor Versus Slytherin , Professor Dumbledore was not there to watch the match . That's why Professor Quirrell cursed Harry Broomstick . Without any harm, Harry got out of trouble saving his own life once . Thank to Professor Snape who had struggled to maintain Harry's broom ,and Hermione who put fire on Snape unknowingly . They had forgotten one important thing , only powerful dark magic could harm broomstick like Nimbus 2000.
   
   
   
2.   On christmas day , Harry did not only get Invisibility Cloak , but also numbers of things like: wooden flute from Hagrid , chocolate frog from Hermione , jumper from Mrs Weasley and fifty pence money from uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia . Well, it seemed unwanted ,so Harry gave coin to Ron who looked so amazed by the muggle money . By the end of the book, Harry realized Dumbledore was the one who sent him his father's cloak.

He was the referee to save Harry from Quirrell's curse. Third time Harry did not attend the match because he was in the hospital sleeping . That was something secret between Dumbledore and Harry . Well , it was ,but Fred and George would never let the rumor hidden .
   
   
   
6.   Nevillle was cursed the leg-Locker by Malfoy  His legs were stuck together as everyone was laughing . Hermione leapt up and performed the counter-curse .Then Neville's legs sprang apart . But Ron was bitten by Nobert ,so only Harry and Hermione went to tower to hand the dragon to Charlie's friends. Unfortunately or fortunately , Malfoy overheard it so he went to the tower and was seen by Professor McGonagall . He was taken 20 points away. On the other hand, due to excitement ,Harry and Hermione forgot to put on the cloak. By the time ,Neville arrived to tell them Malfoy wad after them , Mr Filch got them to Professor McGonagall . She thought they tricked Malfoy to the tower and shamed of them, so they took 50 points from three of them. ( That's so unfair !! )
   
   
   
9.   In forbidden forest , at first Malfoy paired with Neville and coward dog ,Fang . Because Malfoy scared Neville , Hagrid decided to pair him with Potter. In this way , he would not trouble anyone. Well , as the story went , Harry saw black cloak man drinking unicorn blood who was about to kill him. Luckily , a centaur protected him from dark thing . The centaur was a creature that would be never into dark or heaven side, but the one who saved Harry told him about what happened and gave him a ride on his back ,even he was not supposed to do it .
   
   
   
10.   To solve the disaster that Voldemort would return,they went to Professor Dumbledore , but did not meet him. He was in his business of minister of Education in London. So they divided into 2 groups , Hermione watched out Snape ,and Harry , Ron stayed outside the third floor door. But thing did not go well. The plan was not run well.    1 Professor Dumbledore clicked the Put-Outer twelve times in the book, but in the movie only five times .

   2 In the cupboard where Harry slept in at the first time had a lot of spiders in it . That's why Harry was not scared of spiders in the second book as " Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secret ".

  3 In the book,Harry began wolfing down his bacon when Dudley's face went red seeing his birthday presents were not as much as last year . On the other word , in movie Harry only stared at Dudley with unbelievable feeling .

   4 When Harry was allowed to go to zoo because his babysitter , Mrs Figg was injured ,so his uncle decided to let him go . As well as that , there were 5 people going to zoo ; Harry , Dudley , Uncle Vernon , Aunt Petunia ,and Dudley's best friend , Piers Polkiss who was usually the one who held people 's arms behind their back while Dudley hit them . 

   5 At the zoo, Harry did have the long conservation with the  snake . While Harry was talking to the snake , Piers saw it. Then Dudley pushed Harry down to the floor . Well, because of Harry 's wizard power , the glass vanished and Dudley as well as Pier were trapped in the glass cage. After that Harry was kept in the cupboard till Christmas. It was his longest punishment.

    6 After receiving tons of letters from both owls and postmen , Mr and Mrs Dursley immediately asked all of them to leave at once . At first to the hotel , but then the owner of the hotel came over with the letter , so as the result they considered to move into the place which was like island . They thought the storm would stop the letter ,but it did not work , you fool muggles. 

7  7 Hagrid did stay one night in the filthy island with the Dursleys and Harry . He did even cook for Harry . Having slept with Hagrid, Harry thought it was his dream , but it turned out to be real ( I dreamed about magic once ,but it turned out to be just a dream ) . One owl woke Hagrid by keep biting him till it was given the money by Harry which was told to do so by Hagrid. Actually ,I wondered where would the owl keep their money . 

8 8 The pub where they could go to the Diagon alley was only seen unusual to wizard or witch, so the muggle rarely laid their eyes on it. Owner of the pub was so glad to meet Harry , ( everyone did ) . He used to bow Harry when aunt Petunia went shopping for fatty Dudley with Harry . It was his honor when Harry remembered that he was a guy who bowed him at the shopping mall. 

    9 Hagrid sat a side when Potter chose the wand. He had a good chat with the shop owner ,and when the shop owner asked about his wand. He said someone broke it into pieces . Well, I assumed he used his umbrella all years long. 

)10 In the wizard's world ,they use gold coins. Galleon is the golden one . 1 Galleon = 17 silver Sickles. 1 Sickle= 29 knuts. ( Don't calculate it into Muggle's cash , you muggle ) 

)11 Hagrid was sick of the drive in Gringotts ,so he left Harry on his own. Believe it or not , Harry met Malfoy in the uniform store. They had a short conversation ,and Harry left first . Well, that was the first time Harry felt he disliked that boy because he was so much as Dudley . By the way , Hegwig was a gift from Hagrid for his eleventh birthday , As well as that , Hegwig was named after Harry read something ,which was not mentioned, in History of Magic book. 

)12 After leaving Diagon Valley , Hagrid left at one, and Harry spent a month at his uncle's house till September 1st. They did not bully Harry anymore, but they also did not speak to him which made Harry felt specially weird. Then the day before 1st September , Harry asked his uncle to take him to train station . His uncle did not refuse because he took Dudley to cut of his pigtail either , but it seemed to be more than that . Actually , he knew there was no such thing as platform 9 and 3/2 . Harry did not know that ,maybe Hagrid forgot to tell him to. 

)13 On the train , Harry put his stuffs on, but it was too heavy for his tiny self , so the twin brother helped him out . They were the first guys on the train realizing Harry Potter was coming to Hogwart. 

)14 On the train to Hogwart , Ron and Harry were enjoying their talk while one fluffy guy with weird teeth ( but now he is damn hot ) came up asking if they saw his toad. They said no. After a while one girl came up with the toadless boy asking again during the time Ron was about to do magic. Well, you know what after that . Then she left , but back again to inform two boys to change to uniform soon .

)15 Before sorting the house, Ron told Harry Fred and George said sorting house hurt a lot ,even to wrestling a troll, ( what ??? ) while Hermione tried to remember all the spells she had learnt , well Harry on the other hand , was stuck with the idea of wearing the hat forever because he thought he would be mistaken to be wizard ( If you were not , who would be ?? ) 

)16 On the first day of the class, Harry and Ron were lost because they were fooled by ghosts and Mr Filch . But in the book , they managed to be okay till portion lesson , Professor Snape aimed to embarrass Harry and took the score off from Harry as well as Ron. 

117 Before portion class , Harry was sent a letter from Hagrid to meet . It turned out to be the best thing that could happen to him after portion class . Ron and Harry went on to Hagrid's hut and ate cake which was like rock. That was the time they discovered someone robbed Gringotts.  

18 Harry who was called by Professor McGonagall thought he would be expelled, but then she tended to borrowed wood from Professor Flitwick ,not Quirrell . They had a long discuss and put Harry as the youngest seeker because first year was not allowed to play Quidditch . They got the hope Harry would bring Gryffindor house cup that year.

)19 The time Ron, Hermione , and Harry were trapped and saw the three heads dog in the castle ,not only three of them , but also Neville who just came back from Hospital wing . Malfoy asked Harry and Ron a duel , like fighting but with magic so they got two pair if one died the other one would come up. Hermione defended them from going till they met Neville and then they knew it was a trap since Mr Filch knew someone was there at midnight. Well , as they ran off ,they accidentally met that thing . Hermione seemed to be the smartest ( Obviously ) . She noticed the dog guarded something which made Harry knew what it was. 

220 History of Magic was taught by Professor Binns. It was the most boring class since the ghost was the teacher. Professor Binn was very old indeed when he had fallen asleep in front of the staff room fire and got up next morning to teach, leaving his body behind him.
